Overview

This is a straightforward Mage Tamer designed around letting your pets handle the majority of the damage while you provide healing, support, and additional Magery damage.

The build is easy to get started with and works well for both solo farming and group PvM. Your pets provide consistent damage while Veterinary keeps them alive and Magery gives you additional tools for healing, utility, and damage.

Tracking and Focus are both viable choices for the final 100 skill points depending on how you prefer to play.

Aspect Options

  • PvM -> Command Aspect

Command is a natural fit for a Tamer build focused on maximizing pet damage.

Links are not required for this build to perform well, making it a good choice for newer characters. As you invest more into the character, links can be used to further improve your pet damage and overall PvM performance.

  • PvM:
    • Pet Damage
    • Damage Dealt by Player
    • Spell Damage / Spell Damage to Monsters

Codex Use

  • Taming

    • Your pets will be doing the majority of your damage, so focus on abilities and upgrades that improve their effectiveness.
  • Wizard’s Grimoire

    • Use Magery primarily for supporting your pets, healing, and adding additional damage when appropriate.
  • Healer’s Codex

    • Veterinary and healing support are important to keeping your pets alive during difficult encounters.

Additional Codex info is in the build card

Equipment

Start with leather armor and prioritize defensive stats along with a magical spellbook with high potency.

As your character progresses, upgrade your armor and spellbook while investing into equipment that improves your Magery and pet-focused PvM performance.

Farming/Gameplay

The basic gameplay loop is simple: let your pets engage the enemy while you stay at a safe distance and keep them healed.

Use Magery to contribute additional damage when your pets are healthy and provide utility when needed. In group content, you can also focus more heavily on keeping your pets and allies alive.

Tracking is useful for passive hostile tracking, while Focus provides additional mana regeneration and refund. Choose whichever better fits your playstyle.
