September 4th Patch TLDR

A TLDR for the September 4th patch notes.

Patch Summary — September 4, 2026

Patch: Mouseover Tooltips, Transcribers and Many More QoL Updates

This is primarily a quality-of-life and creature-ability update, with several useful Tamer changes.

Biggest Changes

  • Storage Shelves: Added named Storage Shelf Loadouts with dedicated management, dropdown selection, and quick switching.
  • Tooltips: Most in-game Info buttons now show their information on mouseover instead of requiring a click.
  • Aspect Item Tomes: Can now store Chromatic Cores and Chromatic Distillations.
  • Codex Loadouts: Deleting a loadout now automatically selects the next one instead of jumping back to the first.
  • Creature DoTs: Bleed, Disease, and Poison from recently killed non-tamed creatures now continue ticking properly.
  • Provocation: Maximum range is now a fixed 40 tiles, replacing the old variable-distance Tether mechanic.
  • Crafting: Reagent-based crafting now properly contributes to Scientist achievements and Artisan Aspect XP.

Tamer / Creature Changes

A large number of creature abilities have been converted into passive abilities, meaning they now trigger automatically from attacks or spells rather than functioning as manually activated abilities.

Affected abilities include:

  • Burrow
  • Choke
  • Constrict
  • Crush
  • Discharge
  • Firebite
  • Mirror
  • Spellvenom
  • Weakening Web
  • Web

Most of these abilities now have a trigger chance on melee attacks or spellcasts, with the chance reduced to 33% of normal if the ability triggered within the previous 15 seconds.

Primal Rage was removed entirely. Creatures that previously had it, such as Savage Primordials, now receive Frenzy + Enrage instead.

Venom Barrage also received a bug fix so Spitting Viper-type followers properly use their full attack range: 12 tiles PvM / 8 tiles PvP.

Other Notable QoL Changes

  • Runebook/Rune Tome Transcribers let you copy an entire book into an empty one, including its name and default rune.
  • Stablemasters now notify you when your listed creatures sell and provide a sales summary.
  • New Public Display Cases let anyone view their contents while normal access rules still control taking or using items.
  • Faction participation can’t be toggled until 5 minutes after PvP, up from 60 seconds.
  • House ghosts are now always visible to Friends, Co-Owners, and Owners.
  • House Battle Trainers now have a Mute Hit Sounds option.
  • Furniture Dye Removers are now available from the Prevalia Market.
  • Aspect Crystals now properly get consumed when used.
  • Player weight capacity now properly refreshes when affected by Mastery Chain Links or Redline Upgrades.
  • Ship crew ability cooldowns should no longer reset prematurely.
  • The ship [Reload command works again.

TL;DR

The biggest change for Tamers is the rework of numerous creature abilities into passive proc-based abilities. Provocation is also now standardized at 40 tiles, while the rest of the patch is largely focused on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, storage/loadout management, and new utility items.
